How It Started?

The founder of the company, Mr. Tong Hoe Soon, began his career as a van salesman for Bousted Trading in 1969. Following that, a young entrepreneur with great vision and high enthusiasm started his 1st business, Merison Enterprise, which operated from home. A few years on, Merison Enterprise was appointed the distributor for Gillette (M) Sdn Bhd, stockist for Kao Trading, jobber for Beecham (FE) Sdn Bhd and Johnson & Johnson.

Throughout the years, with his vision to conquer the retail market in Melaka, Mr. Tong has managed to secure the distributorship for many products of major multinational FMCG companies and expand his network of distribution. In 1990, Merison (M) Sdn Bhd was appointed the distributor for Dumex, Summit (M) Sdn. Bhd., Texchem Trading & key wholesaler for Eveready (M) Sdn Bhd. In 1987, the relationship with P&G was started when Merison Marketing Sdn. Bhd. was appointed as P&G jobber with 1 exclusive salesman to cover Melaka & Muar (North Johor). Merison continues to develop aggressively throughout the years with many consolidations and new partnerships were setup playing in the FMCG industry in Southern region of Malaysia.

Merison (M) Sdn Bhd was established in 1996. Merison Marketing Sdn Bhd was founded in 1992 to distribute the business of Procter & Gamble (P&G). It soon expanded into the Negeri Sembilan and Johor markets in the year of 2000 and 2004, respectively.

Merison Group formed Fimmex Trading Sdn Bhd in 2001 as its third company. The company distributes several brands including Sc Johnson, Mandom, Wipro Unza, Ab Mauri and OKI Mewah.

With the expansion of the Merison Group into Kuantan and Kota Bahru in 2019, there are currently 8 warehouses and 9 offices in Peninsula Malaysia. Merison is focused on growing our strong and efficient distribution network to provide the greatest level of service to the customers.
